101 BASICS OF MONITORING AND EVALUATION
This course aims to strengthen the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) skills of individuals and organizations and build their capacity to identify data needs, collect and analyze data, and use that data to improve program planning and decision making.
ADVANCED PROJECT MONITORING AND EVALUATION
This is the continuation of the training course for project monitoring and evaluation and participants are required to have completed the basic course or can prove experiences in working as project management and/or M&E assistant. The course will more focus on theories, method and tools and practical case studies.
PARTICIPATORY PROJECT MONITORING AND EVALUATION AND LEARNING
This is the upper level of the training courses on project monitoring and evaluation. The course is designed for participants to understand where participatory and learning based approaches to M&E fit within broader approaches to evaluation having explored major debates around accountability, learning, causation and methodological rigor. The course will apply specific participatory methods to M&E processes having studied at least six key methods using case studies, critically interrogate and analyses methods, identify their strengths and weaknesses and understand how to adapt and contextualize their use. The course will also integrate methods in M&E design through a process of systematizing and identifying opportunities to adapt participatory methods to address particular M&E challenges you are facing.
SOCIAL RESEARCH METHODS AND CONCEPT NOTES
This training course for individuals and organizations is to understand the social research methods and tools. Participants will develop a research orientation amongst them. They get acquainted to the fundamentals of research methods. Introducing them to the basic concepts used in research and to scientific social research.
SOCIAL RESEARCH DESIGN AND PROPOSAL WRITING
In this course the focus will be more on practical work to developing social research methods and writing proposals. The training will guide participant to understand theories of social research, design social research method, understanding qualitative and quantitate methods. Participants have the chance to work in a small group to produce sample social research proposals.
MARKET RESEARCH METHODS AND CONCEPT NOTES
This course is about market research concept and theories. The training will help participants to learn about the methods, approaches and processes of conducting a market research. The participants will learn qualitative and quantitative methods for market research. At the end of training course, participant shall be able to design market research concept notes.
QUANTITATIVE DATA MANAGEMENT AND ANALYSIS
This training course on quantitative data management, will help the participants to understand the concept of data management and the usage of popular data management and analysis software. The participants will work with Microsoft Excel to learn the concept of data management on the begin and then other statistical software will be introduced such as SPSS, Stata and others. The training course will focus on statistical analysis and how to organize data for reporting.
QUALITATIVE DATA MANAGEMENT AND ANALYSIS
This training course on qualitative data management whill focus on the concept of qualitative data, qualitative data collection methods, qualitative data analysis, tools for this analysis and how to develop reports. The training course will introduce some popular qualitative data collection and analysis software.
WORKSHOP BASELINE SURVEYS
This workshop will guide the participants, in a practical way, to learn the concepts of a baseline survey, design baseline research by using M&E frameworks, baseline data analysis, and baseline reporting. At the end of the workshop participant will be able to produce baseline survey concept notes.
WORKSHOP MID-TERM EVALUATION AND CONCEPT NOTES
In this workshop the participants will learn concept of mid-term evaluation, design mid-term evaluation concept notes, using data collection tools, do data analysis and reporting. The workshop is practical oriented and at the end the participants shall be able to develop mid-term review/evaluation concept notes.
WORKSHOP ON END-LINE SURVEYS AND CONCEPT NOTES
The end-line survey workshop will guide participants to learn the concepts of end-line surveys. Will explain why end-line surveys are necessary and how to do them. The participants will be active involved and working in small teams to produce concept note for a sample project end-line survey.
WORKSHOP ON IMPACT EVALUATION AND CONCEPT NOTES
This is participatory learning activitiy will show how to develop impact evaluation concept notes. It includes methods, tools, analysis and reporting. The participant will also learn about the concepts of impact evaluation and theories as well. At the end of the workshop participants shall be able to produce impact evaluation concept notes.
WORKSHOP ON SOCIAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT AND CONCEPT NOTES
This is participatory learning activities with a team of high profile experts on social impact assessment. Participants will discuss and debate on why and how social impact assessment? Participate in lecturing on theories of social development, social impact, and tools for impact assessment. Participant will work in small team to produce social impact assessment concept note as evidence of workshop outcome.
WORKSHOP ON INTERPRETING SOCIAL RESEARCH REPORTS FOR STRATEGIC PLANNING
This is an advanced workshop for experts, specialists and entrepreneurs to learn, how the use existing reports, do research reports, survey data or other research products as input for strategic planning. Participant will convert data and information into strategic planning. The workshop will guide the participants through the concept of strategic planning,using data sources, do data analysis and use practical tools for the planning. At the end of workshop, the participantw will produce a sample of a project strategy paper as workshop outcome.
WORKSHOP ON INTERPRETING MARKET RESEARCH REPORTS INTO BUSINESS STRATEGIC PLANNING OR BUSINESS PLAN
After this workshop the participants will know how to convert market research report into business strategic plans or business plans. This workshop is thought for people with more than 2 years’ experience in the social or business sector. Participants will meet international and local experts with experience in business strategic planning. At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to produce a sample business strategy as their learning outcome.
