Description

Description of assignment: Heifer International Cambodia is applying the Pro-Poor Wealth Creating Value Chain approach, a combination of Value Based Holistic Community Development and Value Chain approaches to address issues of food security and nutrition, poverty, gender inequality, health, environment and climate change adaptation in the lives of the families we serve. The Inclusive Market for Smallholder Farmers Project will be implemented by applying the above approach that aimed to assist 35,000 smallholder farmer families through working in partnership with nine local NGOs/CBOs partners and in collaboration with relevant government agencies and other NGOs. The project implementation will cover 12 provinces in Cambodia from 2018 to June 2021. The purpose of this baseline survey is to establish and document the benchmark/status of the project qualitative and quantitative indicators in relation to the objectives and impact areas. The project was in Svay Rieng, Prey Veng, Takeo, Kampot, Kampong Speu, Kmapoung Chhnang, Pursat, Battambang, Banteay Mean Chey, Siem Reap, Sihanuk Ville, Kampong Cham and Kampong Thom.

Description of actual services for the assignment:

YDRC provided the consultancy to conduct baseline survey which cover the following services:

  • Propose the initial Meeting with Heifer PME unit team;
  • Develop inception report and action plan for the survey;
  • Prepare the baseline survey methodologies and review Heifer baseline survey tools;
  • Prepare and provide training on data collection to enumerators;
  • Collect, interview, analyze data of the survey;
  • Produce the survey report in English;
  • Provide presentation of initial findings to Heifer Cambodia team; and
  • Finalize report for submitting to Heifer.

Specific method and approaches:

  • The firm conduct survey for 850 farmers in the 12 target provinces. The survey was to collect through Kobo collect offline tablets.
